This year is our 34th Auction!
The auction held at Murray Town has been going strong for several decades and is a source of fundraising for our local community. Proceeds raised by the auction are donated to several organisations such as the Royal Flying Doctors, the local CFS and SES, and the remaining proceeds are used around the community for projects such as our camp grounds, playground upkeep, town maintenance and more.
Our auction is run entirely by unpaid volunteers who donate a few weeks of time towards the auction every year. Our auction would not be possible without the efforts put in by our wonderful office volunteers, who often spend long days or nights following the auction tidying up the paperwork and sending out cheques.
And before the auction begins, we have a band of tireless volunteers who tidy the grounds, setup the auction rows, construct our tent and see to the hundreds of little tasks that need to be finished before the auction can even begin.
And then when the auction is underway we have great teams of volunteers that help organise your goods that you bring in, help the auctioneers track the successful bidders, and run all sorts of odd jobs throughout the day.
We think you will find the entire day an excellent family day out, and our little community will do our best to welcome you and see to all your needs, while providing you with the best service we can. Come and check out the auction, pick up a bargain or two, or even sell that old dresser or fridge you’ve been meaning to get rid off and never do.
